Baker McKenzie announced that Tokyo-based partner Kensaku Takase has become Global Head of Intellectual Property for the Firm’s IP Tech Practice. In this role, Ken leads the Firm’s global IP offerings, working across markets to help clients protect and maximize the value of their innovations.

“Clients are navigating a fast changing IP landscape shaped by geopolitical uncertainty and new technologies,” said Ken. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role. By staying in close dialogue, we can align with client needs and deliver practical, cost effective solutions. IP now plays a more prominent role in transactions—driving valuation and due diligence, and supporting long term value creation.”

A foreign registered lawyer in Japan, Ken joined Baker McKenzie Tokyo in 2013 as a partner. He has assisted many companies in various industries with cross-border transactions in the trademark, copyright and design fields. Ken is a seasoned IP practitioner who focuses on intellectual property, media and information technology law.
