Reiko Takita is a member of the Employment & Compensation Group at Baker McKenzie’s Tokyo office.
Prior to joining our Firm, Reiko worked at a boutique law firm focusing on labor and employment law where she mainly provided employment-related legal services to multinational companies. She also worked at the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and in the legal division of a major IT company, where she provided personal information law-related advice, etc.
Practice Focus
Reiko’s practice covers the full range of employment law matters, including employment-related litigation, investigations and advice. She frequently reviews clients’ employment-related contracts, rules of employment, personal information protection rules and other internal regulations. Reiko also handles the labor law aspects of M&A projects.
Representative Clients, Cases or Matters
- Represented a number of domestic and international clients before labor tribunals and in labor-related lawsuits regarding employee dismissal for poor performance and/or behavioral issues, withdrawal of employment offers and redundancies, etc.
- Investigated allegations of sexual, power, gender and racial harassment at international companies.
- Assisted in responding to a corrective recommendation and guidance from the Labor Standard Inspection Office on working hours issues.
- Represented an international client in collective bargaining with a union regarding a disciplinary action.
