With 42 new laterals, the Firm adds 131 to partner ranks globally

Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie today announced the promotion of 89 colleagues to partner effective 1 July 2023, except for those based in North America which took effect on 1 January 2023. With the addition of 42 new lateral partners joining the Firm in the year to 30 June 2023, the Firm has added 131 partners globally, an increase of 12% from the previous year, and the biggest annual class of new partners.

The 89 homegrown partner promotions are across 41 locations. A total of 46% of promotions this year are women, up from 37% in the last financial year demonstrating the Firm’s ongoing progress in building a more gender equitable workplace.

The 42 new lateral hires are spread across a broad practice mix, which further bolsters the Firm’s already strong client service capabilities in key practice areas including M&A, Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Dispute Resolution, IP & Technology and Tax.
